Approx. 17 % of Norway´s area is protected in accordance with the Nature Diversity Act. These are very important areas for nature diversity, but they are also important areas for recreational activities. Good knowledge of how human activity affects nature is important in the management of these protection areas. We need more knowledge on the effect that comings and goings have on nature and, in particular, how cycling affects paths compared with comings and goings on foot. We would like to carry out GIS analyses that can agive us knowledge on which areas in hte national parks are not suitable for cycling (suitability analyses). The assignment is a follow-up of the NINA report 1288.
