The transit reception centre is the first place of residence for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers between the ages of 15 and 18 arriving in Norway. The asylum seekers must have different meetings with the immigration authorities and the health care service during their stay at the transit reception centre. E.g. the registration of asylum applications, asylum interviews and statutory health examinations. The asylum seekers must live at the transit reception centre until the obligatory tasks are concluded.
The transit reception centre must be able to receive asylum seekers 24/7, all year. The number of arrivals varies and it is the transit reception centre that is first affected by changes in number of arrivals of unaccompanied minor asylum seekers.
The transit reception centre is a temporary welfare and housing service for the asylum seekers.
The contract period is 2 years. Option for 1 + 1 year extension.
