On 2.2.2017 Vinje municipal council adopted the transport part of the municipality plan for 2016-2035. The plan has three priority areas and Vinje — with nature as a resource, is one of them. This means that:

Vinje is a leading tourist municipality that uses natural resources and culture to increase value creation within tourism and visitor business. Rauland and Vågslid are priority areas for tourism. By priority area we mean compact holiday cabin development, connection to municipal infrastructure and major facilitation of communal benefits such as a ski track network and other qualities that make the priority area an attractive destination. We will secure and facilitate paths, ski tracks and access to recreational areas through cooperation with landowners and organisations.

The business plan for Vinje municipality 2017-2021 was adopted in the municipal council on 6.4.2017. Tourism is 1 of 3 main priority areas in the municipality. Tourism is the main business in the municipality, which includes tourism destination and holiday cabin destination.

On 5.12.2017 Vinje municipality signed a contract with Visit Telemark AS for a basic package. The municipality will be responsible for the rest of the tourism assignments. Vinje municipality therefore needs a contract with a cooperation partner to carry out these other assignments.

Run a year-round tourist office in the municipality.

Provide information for visitors. Respond in writing and orally to requests from potential tourists, tour operators, the press, etc.

Operate and maintain websites and be active on social media, etc.

Function as an initiator and coordinator for the development of tourism priorities in the municipality.

Cooperate with Visit Norway and Visit Telemark.

Carry out ongoing market activities together with businesses.

The host function must be able to communicate with guests from Norway and abroad. The Contracting Authority assumes that the tenderer has, and can use, new platforms for information, marketing and communication in the future.

Tenders cannot be submitted for parts of the assignment, and alternative tenders are not allowed.

The Contracting Authority has considered dividing up the assignment in accordance with PPR §19-4, but has decided that this is not suitable.
