Pre-Qualification for a New Heavy Machine Gun

Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency (NDMA) seeks to procure new M2 Cal .50 (12,7x99mm) heavy machine guns (HMGs) with Quick Change Barrel systems together with HMG spare parts, tools, replacement and other materials through a seven (7) year framework agreement to replace the current inventory of Browning Cal 50 M2 QCB, heavy machine guns.
The volume, scope, and value of this acquisition are estimates - the estimates are not intended as upper or lower limits - do not entail an obligation to make a call-off or purchase. Any call-offs are dependent upon the involved parties’ changing needs during the contract period together with budgetary adjustments.
The Heavy Machine Gun shall be able to use all Standard linked ammunition in caliber 12,7mm x 99mm.
The Norwegian Armed Forces currently use NAMMO-ammunition, NM 152 (Vinghøg) Soft Mount, Kongsberg´s weapon station Protector Nordic and Sea Protector.
Furthermore, NDMA requires the Participant/Bidder commitment to provide the security of supply for an additional period of fifteen years from the HMG frame agreement’s last call off under the seven-year framework agreement. This security of supply will be regulated in a separate agreement.
In order to achieve greater reductions in life cycle costs, NDMA may express an interest to acquire around counter type mechanism for the HMGs through an Invitation to Tender.
