Ås municipality will construct a new nursery with 8 departments on the municipality's site by Nordby sports centre. 2 of the nursery's departments must be facilitated for children with special needs. These are facilitated separately and given extended areas as regards the other 6 departments in the project. The aim is to reduce the dimensions and establish conceivable and clearly set out rooms that small children can feel they belong to. The project solves this by breaking up the building, the nursery can be seen as a village where the departments and adults have separate “houses” around a communal “square” (common room /kitchen).
