The contracting authority needs to carry out maintenance and repairs on the vessel KNM Hitra.
KNM “Hitra”, (previously USN SC-718) is one of three submarine chasers that the Norwegian navy received from the USA in 1943.
This type of ship was first built in 1917 and in 1918 the American navy had 440 ships of this type in service. 438 versions of a slightly modified version of the ship type were built during the second world war, of which 3 were given to Norway. The hulls were built out of Canadian pine (pitchpine) on an oak frame with a steel main bulkhead and reinforcements. The construction was carried out by civilian boat builder yards who did not already have defence contracts.
The central measurements are 111 feet 6 ¾ inches X 18 feet 8 inches X 6 feet.

Kort beskrivelse:
The Tenderer shall, in accordance with the Contract, carry out maintenance work on and repairs to KNM Hitra.
The assignment is to be carried out at the Tenderer's location, or another suitable location in Norway, as the Vessel is only certified for small coastal navigation. Tenderers shall give an account in their tender of the intended location for carrying out the assignment.

There is a need to replace seams, clean and replace any bad decking (lroko).
We are currently aware that there is one (1) outer plank on the side of the craft above the water line that must be replaced as it is rot in fender. The other fenders must be checked for the same damage.
If rot damage is found on the decking, it must be repaired. If rot damage is found in another structure, the repair work must be dealt with separately.
If material is replaced during the maintenance work, the existing choice of material must be used when selecting new material. The contracting authority must approve the choice of material before any replacements.
After the assignment has been executed, the entire finished deck must be sanded and untreated.
A new PVC pipe stand must be made for tarpaulin. The Tenderer must assemble PVC pipes for the tarpaulin that will cover the Vessel during the winter. It is up to the Tenderer to propose the dimensions/number/composition method. The contracting authority would like to keep the PVC pipes after the assignment has been completed.

The contracting authority's obligations in accordance with the contract are limited to what is stated in the tender documentation. The extent of the maintenance work has not been finally defined. Additional work can be discovered during the maintenance assignment. Other work that is discovered after an evaluation of the vessel's condition must be agreed between the parties.

The extent does not include any known environmental toxins. If these are found during the work, they must be dealt with in accordance with the current regulations.
The tenderer must submit a monthly report with pictures when the maintenance work is being carried out. Maintenance work in addition to what has been defined must be approved in advance by the Contracting Authority.
