The Norwegian Parliament has approved the merger of:

— Sørum Municipality, with effect from 1.1.2020. The new municipality has been given the name Lillestrøm Municipality, and it will have approx. 88 000 inhabitants. A project office has been established in the Town Hall in Skedsmo Municipality, the coordinator of all activity. In total, Lillestrøm Municipality will be 460 km.
