Kort beskrivelse:
The Hanseatic Museum, Finnegården 1a, is a unique cultural memorial in Europe as the original buildings with their intact interiors from the Hanseatic office in Bergen are preserved.
'Sjøstuen' from 1704 and the accompanying Tasken from 1879 are listed and are also on UNESCO's 'World Heritage List'. The building is the best preserved of all the trade rooms at Bryggen.
Both the Unesco coordinator for Bryggen and the Cultural Heritage Management Office have joined the project group.
Hordaland County c/o the County Curator for listed buildings and the Cultural Heritage Management Office for listed ground have the authority to approve the planned measures for the buildings and the ground beneath them.
The Hanseatic Museum is to be completely renovated as settlement has been proven in the filling matter in the ground beneath the museum, which has led to increasing damage on the museum buildings over a long time. This work involves raising the building by approx. 1 m due to settlement, establishing a new escape staircase towards the north / back yard, called Koren Wibergs Vegg here and changing Murtasken from administration premises to new exhibition premises, including new stairs and a lifting table from the ground to 2

The protection authority requires that the work is carried out procedurally, i.e. work must be done as it was originally done. This applies to all historical work that is undertaken.
In addition to the actual renovation and jacking up of the buildings and re-building the cog joint boxes in Sjøstuen, the existing wharf is to be replaced with a new one. Measures shall be implemented to improve the control of ground water on the site.
