Kompetanse Norge

Kompetanse Norge has open self-tests and self-checks for reading and writing, accounting and digital skills, and shall develop open learning resources within the same skills. As part of this, a game shall be developed where players must use all of the different skills to complete the game. The game must have a comprehensive story, where the player is exposed to different tasks that require skills in the different basic skills to implement. Players must be able to select the level of the game at the start. The game shall be performed on computers as well as hand-held devices. A service shall be delivered that provides training/learning in the four basic skills: reading, calculating, digital and oral skills. The product shall support level 1, 2 and 3 in the learning objectives that are defined by Kompetanse Norge under ‘Learning Goals in the Basic Skills’.

Investigations show that up to 800 000 adults have basic skills that are too poor to maintain a durable connection to the work life. The Ministry of Education has given Kompetanse Norway the task of giving all adults the opportunity to easily test the level of their own basic skills, as well as to develop simple training resources for the same skills.
