Kort beskrivelse:
All business subscriptions in Bergen municipality shall have water metres installed and shall pay the consumption part of the annual fee according to the measured consumption. Household subscriptions can choose whether they would like measured or stipulated consumption.

The plumbing company gets the water metre from the supplier (wholesaler) upon the presentation of a requisition included in the "water meter package". Bergen municipality pay for and own the water meter. The subscriber pays an annual fee. The replacement of the actual water meters is paid by Bergen municipality. A regular, routine replacement of water meters near expiration dates, based on a prioritised list.

Number of active water meters in Bergen municipality:
— Total: approx. 4 600 meters,
— Of which approx. 420 meters are in private homes,
— Of which approx. 270 meters for combined businesses/homes. For the period 2002-2005 the following number of water meters were installed in Bergen municipality:
— 2002: 222 meters,
— 2003: 458 meters,
— 2004: 1 195 meters,
— 2005: 397 meters. In the period from 2006-2017 an average of approx. 190 new water meters per annum were installed.
The number of water metres that will be replaced can vary from year to year in accordance with the prioritised lists.
The maximum expected annual replacements in an active replacement process are estimated to approx. 1 000 meters.
The contracting authority intends to enter into a framework agreement with one supplier (wholesaler).
For the purchase of water meters. The agreement includes the procurement of water meters for the replacement of the current water meters and the installation of new water meters.

Beskrivelse av opsjoner:
The framework agreement period is 2 years, with option for further 1 + 1 year prolongation. The total maximum contract period is 4 years.
