Matmerk

Matmerk needs to modernise and upgrade their service and technology platforms toward 2020. Internally in Matmerk this is defined as an ongoing program, STEM 2020, (Collaboration, Service Design in Efficient Matmerk).
The primary delivery in this programme is modernisation and upgrading of ‘KS’L — Quality System for Agriculture, that is an internal control system for 40 000 farmers, consignees, auditors and employees of Matmerk. KSL is also a core system in Matmerk in relation to multiple label and certification schemes managed by Matmerk.

The need to modernise is in particular related to:
— A desire for a more user friendly system — for all user groups.
— A necessary transition from proprietary technology to more modern technology platforms.
Matmerk has therefore decided to implement the modernisation in phases:
— Phase 1: Needs mapping, including preliminary project, IT and integration reviews Status: Under completion in 1.2018.
— Phase 2: API strategy and plan Status: Service provider selected in 2.2018.
— Phase 3: Development of new KSL Status: Is described in this document.
At the same time, it is crucial that operation of KSL can be managed safely and securely, in parallel with the planning and implementation of modernisation. It will therefore be necessary to have close coordination with the companies that currently operate servers and the current applications.
