The plan concerns the expansion of county road 47 Karmsundgata between Storasundgata and E134 Opel Junction, approx. 1 300 m, and additional streets. Karmsundgata shall be expanded from 2 to 4 lanes, and provide an upgraded foot and cycle path in line with general plans to facilitate environmentally friendly transport.

The width of Karmsundgata will be increased generally to 28 m, with two lanes in each direction, cycle path with foot path on each side and soft verges between both of the driving directions and the foot and cycle traffic. The footpaths will be 2 m wide. The cycle path will be 2.5 metres and shall pass behind the waiting area and shelters at the stops. Bus stops will be established on the stretch, an underpass and three foot bridges between the Opel junction and directly north of Storasundgata. In addition, an interchange is planned for pedestrians and cyclists via the existing underpasses at the Opel junction. A 760 m noise barrier shall be established along Karmsundgata.

Continuous street lights shall be installed along the entire stretch of road and along the cycle path with footpath. The surface water system shall be renewed and separated, and attenuation and purification of road water shall be established.

The project also includes engineering design, execution and control of new ditch and pipe trenches (incl. Interim installations) for Haugesund kommune Engineering Unit — Water and Sewage including attenuation in accordance with the municipality's requirements, and work for interim and A Project Information A3 permanent restructuring of infrastructure for Haugaland Kraft nett, Haugaland Kraft Fiber, Gasnor, GET, Broadnet and Telenor.
