Statistics Norway (SSB) has the main responsibility for official statistics in Norway and it also has a comprehensive research and analysis business. We publish daily new statistics and analysis on ssb.no Statistics Norway is subject to the Ministry of Finance and the Statistics Act, but is professionally an independent organisation. This involves SSB deciding what shall be published and when and how this shall occur SSB makes statistics about: people and living conditions, resources and environment, finance and municipal national accounts, county municipal and government activity.
Almost 900 employees in Oslo and Kongsvinger contribute to that the social debate and management is based on the best possible information and facts. SSB also has close to 150 interviewers around the country.
