The technology has been tested in Oslo's districts in the last 3.5 years in a separate project that focussed on the first target group. Experience from this project shows that the technology allows important interaction between relatives, the alarm centre and the home care services. The technology allows relatives to see where the user is and to contact or find the user if necessary. The alarm centres are a ‘back-up’ when relatives are not able to follow-up the user. The alarm centres also function as the installer and are responsible for training, they also are responsible for technical follow-up of the units and act as the system manager.
