Kort beskrivelse:
The purchasing group consists of equipment for housing of mice and rats under controlled environmental conditions in individual ventilated cages (cages, racks and ventilation devices in a JVC system). The purchasing group also includes work stations for cage cleaning, various trolleys for transport and storing of empty cages and drink bottles as well as equipment for processing bedding under varying degrees of automation. Some cages/racks for metabolism research are also included.

This will be part of the user equipment in the construction project Campus Ås which is a joint location project for The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and the Norwegian Veterinary Institute. The gross area of the building is 63 100 m², of which 48 300 m² is reserved NMBU and the remaining areas are reserved the Norwegian Veterinary Institute. The building shall be situated in Ås municipality and is to be completed during summer 2020. The equipment included in this purchasing group shall be utilised both at NMBU and the Norwegian Veterinary Institute. Room numbers that start with 205.03 belong to the Unit for rodents at NMBU and are planned for a capacity of approx. 1 200 simultaneous cages. Room numbers that start with 307.03 belong to the Research Department of the Norwegian Veterinary Institute. It can have approx. 250 simultaneous cages.
