The Norwegian Coastal Administration's vessel renewal plan from 2007 allows for the procurement of a minimum of 6 new vessels, which can be used for both maintenance of fairways and for oil spill stand-by. The overall intention of the vessel renewal plan is to obtain new vessels with the necessary qualities and suitable equipment in order to see to the contracting authority's assignments in areas near the coast. These assignments comprise maintenance and the new establishment of navigation installations, as well as oil spill recovery and environment protection.
Kystverket Rederi has contracted three new constructions, OV Utvær, OV Skomvær and OV Bøkfjord respectively.
A new vessel shall now be procured with delivery during 2018, with an option for a further one vessel with probable delivery in 2019. Kystverket Rederi intends to construct low or zero emissions vessels and will emphasise this during the competition. The contracting authority will be free to take up the option.
The tenderer shall carry out the design and construction of the vessel.
Emphasis is put on the fact that all meetings will be held in Norwegian and all documentation shall be in Norwegian. This applies to both the competition and during construction.
