Holmestrand kommune has undertaken to expand Holmestrand Sewage Treatment Plant in order to apply secondary purification as well as an increasing capacity. According to the 2015 Annual Report, the treatment plant has a dimensioned capacity of 720 m3/hour equivalent to 19.300 pe. The calculation was done based on SFT's previous dimensioning guidelines. Currently, Holmestrand kommune has approx. 10 700 inhabitants. The municipality calculates that approx. 9 000 are connected to the treatment plant. There is an offshore pipeline from Sande kommune, and all sewage sludge shall be transferred to the Holmestrand Sewage Treatment Plant.Less than 6,000 pe are associated with this part of the sewage network being connected to Holmestrand Sewage Treatment Plant from Sande kommune when the transfer system is completed.The following main services are included:— Design and suggestions to treatment solutions that cover the requirement for biological secondary purification.— Delivery and assembly of process equipment.This contract, M1-Machine and Process Equipment, comprises all of the equipment needed to fulfil the requirements of secondary purification. The expansion shall be able to receive building step, that shall be developed in order to receive waste water from 25,000 pe.Measures shall be put in place to further expand the treatment plant toward 2050, with a future capacity of 35,000 pe.
