— Engineering design services for new ventilation installations with all the constructional and building technical following work and full upgrade/renovation of the swimming pool at Ortun school.
— Engineering design services for the renovation/upgrade of the swimming pool at Kjøkkelvik school.
The school part Ortun:
Ortun school was built in 1970, the school consists of the main building and a wing that includes a 25 m swimming pool.
The building has 2 storeys as well as a basement with an air raid shelter and 2 technical loft rooms.
The total heated area is 5 722 m² and most of the school building has extract ventilation with the supply of fresh air via vents in windows. The group room part of the school building, the gym hall and swimming pool are served by separate balanced ventilation aggregates. The air raid shelter in the building has a separate ventilation aggregate that is turned off in peaceful times and it is neither heated or cooled.
The Education Department reckons that the school building has a lifetime of 40 years. After this time consideration ought to be given to carrying out a major upgrade or an assessment of whether to replace the building with a new building.
The Education Department would now like to replace the old ventilation installations in the school with new balanced ventilation installations. The installation of new ventilation installations in an old school building will often involve considerable building technical interventions and alterations, as new ventilation installations require large areas and volumes.
This also affects the school building's other technical installations, such as electrical and plumbing installations. It also means that internal surfaces such as ceilings must be demolished. It is then natural that the surfaces that have to be demolished are renewed when replacing the ventilation installations.
It is also appropriate to carry out other modernisations in such a project, such as replacing old light fittings with new energy friendly and light efficient fittings, when the old ceilings are being replaced anyway.
Swimming pool Ortun (pool size 25 m x 12,5):
The swimming pool is from when the school was new in 1970. We are unaware of any work being carried out on the swimming pool since it was new, apart from normal maintenance. There is a condition report with proposals for measures in order to fulfil the ‘Regulations for swimming facilities, pools and saunas etc.’ dated 13.6.1996. The condition report was prepared by Norconsult in 2013.
The condition report concludes that comprehensive renovation of the swimming pool is required, including a complete replacement of pool technical installations.
Swimming pool Kjøkkelvik (pool size 16,5 m x 8,0 m):
The swimming pool is from when the school was new in 1970. We are unaware of any work being carried out on the swimming pool since it was new, apart from normal maintenance. There is a condition report with proposals for measures in order to fulfil the ‘Regulations for swimming facilities, pools and saunas etc.’ dated 13.6.1996. The condition report was prepared by Norconsult in 2013.
