The purpose of the procurement is to cover the agency requirement for nationwide (including Svalbard) remote access networks (WAN). The procurement is critical in respect to police activities. Therefore there is a requirement for high reliability and technical quality of the deliverables.
All of the Police's service locations are connected together in a WAN that has branches to the just under 500 physical service locations of the Police. The locations are spread throughout the entire country, hereunder also in sparsely populated areas. It must be expected that locations may be added/removed during the agreement period. There may be a requirement for the tenderer's personnel who shall execute assignments under this agreement to have security clearance subject to the legislation on preventative security service, the 20.3.1998, No 10 (The Security Act).
