The E18 in Norway goes from Oslo to Kristiansand and it is important for businesses, settlement and the transport of goods at home and abroad. The projects ‘E18 Langangen — Rugtvedt’ and ‘Rugtvedt — Dørdal’ are parts of this road. The development of the E18 stretch from Langangen to Dørdal shall be carried out by Nye Veier AS. The municipal sector plan with an impact assessment has been approved for the Langangen — Rugtvedt stretch. A tender competition has been held for work on preparing the development plan for the stretch. The development plan is expected to be completed in November 2017. The development plan for the stretch Rugtvedt — Dørdal is available.
The land acquisition on the Rugtvedt — Dørdal stretch has already been started by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (SVV). All the houses and holiday homes have been acquired, apart from 1, for which a judgement has to be made. The land acquisition on the Langangen — Rugtvedt stretch has not started yet. Archeological registration work is, however, being carried out.
In total the land acquisition on the Langangen — Rugtvedt stretch is for approx. 200 properties, distributed over a stretch of approx. 17 km. The plan status is somewhat uncertain as regards the final extent. The Rugtvedt — Dørdal stretch comprises the construction of 16.8 km of new dual carriageway. In addition 1.2 km of single carriageway will be constructed for connecting the current road.
At the start of this competition there are approx. 20 properties that need to be accessed and approx. 60 properties for which a procurement contract is to be signed on the Rugtvedt — Dørdal stretch.
