Kristiansand municipality has approx. 88 000 inhabitants and the education sector is responsible for nearly 16 000 children and pupils divided between 40 primary and secondary schools, 27 public nurseries, 47 private nurseries and 26 private family nurseries.
The contracting authority's current administration ‘system’ is made up of several (mainly old), free-standing systems with different interfaces, limited functionality and little degree of integration between them. The systems are mainly run on separate servers in a separate network. The systems are largely seen as out of date with little intuitive user interface, not enough availability and with far too little interaction/integration/re-use of data between the different systems.
The contracting authority requests a new education administration system (hereafter called OAS), which shall, to the greatest possible degree, take over and take care of all the administrative functions required to administer all the municipality's children (in ages 0 — 16 years) from nursery, primary and secondary school and before-and-after-school care until they transfer to sixth form colleges.
Our general vision the new OAS is:
All users of the system, employees, pupils, parents/guardians and others shall experience the OAS as one system and one resource that simplifies each person's daily life.
The system is to have a secure, easy log in and user interface that is adapted and optimised for each user (their role) with intuitive and self-explanatory user interface.
The system is to be fully integrated with all other necessary systems and it is to give the user a uniform experience where all OAS related functions are followed-up and taken care of in one and the same log in.
