Den norske kirke is being reorganised. From 2017 the part that is currently managed through the government and government resources, will be completely transferred to a new legal subject, Den norsk kirke. Kirkemøte will be the top body for managing these resources. The rest of the resources (approx. 2/3) will be controlled by the respective church councils. There will be a further internal process to look at a more appropriate organisation. The ICT commitment in Dnk is an important means in the ongoing reorganisation work. There is a great need for coordinated and dynamic management of the ICT development, so that it supports basic needs in the organisation as regards dialogue with members and volunteers and provides gains through financial savings and increased…

In the coming years it will be important to renew the strategy in accordance with experience, new requirements and developments. In this work is being done with budget procedures, responsibilities, management competence, development of Business Case, portfolio, programme and project management and extracting gains.The management area can also include assistance with the implementation of ICT projects, such as project and test management. Kirkepartner IKT is growing and several church councils are customers and moving their ICT operations to Kirkepartner IKT. This work will involve a need for project management for the migration.

A joint general target picture and architecture was established in the strategy and plans from 2009 and 2011, which shows the connection between the work processes included in the church's work and the IT systems that shall support them. We are now further into the execution and have several joint systems in place. In the future it will be natural to look at the need for adjustments and clarification of the system landscape. Particularly with regards to self-service, automation and security. System architecture, integration and security are important competence areas.

This company is managed through Kirkepartner AS, which is owned by the units in Den norske kirke, who receive services provided by the ICT company. (Extended self-management model.) The ICT company has management contracts with its customers. There are 2 customer groups, system owners for the joint systems and those who get their ICT services provided through the company.
