Statens Vegvesen Region vest [The Norwegian Public Roads Administration, Western Region]

The Norwegian Public Roads Administration shall construct a foot and cycle path with the accompanying subway below county road 510 as well as junction improvements between county road 374 and county road 380. The project is located in Sola municipality, the area is characterised by agriculture with scattered housing and holiday homes, with a few businesses.
The basis for the project consists of two development plans, development plan 0482
‘Roundabout county road 374 Nordsjøveien and county road 380 Ølbergveien’, revised 11.10.2012 and
development plan 0486 ‘Development plan for improving the junctions between county road 510
Kleppvegen and county road 327 Gimravegen and county road 374 Nordsjøvegen’.
The aim of the plan is to improve accessibility for those who walk and cycle on the new foot and cycle path, with the accompanying culvert under county road 510 Kleppvegen. Furthermore, a roundabout shall also be established at the junction between Nordsjø and Ølbergvegen.
The project starts at Solastranden and shall connect to the existing foot and cycle path.
The project then follows Nordsjøvegen to the junction at Kleppvegen. The project includes junction improvements with the establishment of a left turn lane at the Kleppvegen/Gimravegen junction. A foot and cycle path shall be developed from Nordsjøvegen along Ølbergveien past Gardhaugveien.
A width expansion is included on the entire stretch for Nordsjøvegen from Solastranden to
Kleppvegen. The width expansion shall be carried out on the opposite side of the foot and cycle path.
A couple of minor buildings shall be demolished.
Noise reduction screens shall be constructed by the roundabout between Nordsjøveien and Ølbergveien.
A new surface water system for the road shall be laid on the entire stretch. In addition the existing earth watering installations shall be altered along large parts of the stretch, in addition to adaptations to the existing surface watering system. In addition, the contract work includes replacing the existing water and sewage installations for Sola municipality.
There is already lighting along the entire stretch, new installations shall be established for the entire project. The existing aerial lines shall be altered to a ground network. The work shall be executed in co-operation with the Lyse.
The new road installations will conflict with the gas supply to Jæren at the junction between
Nordsjøveien and Ølbergveien. A new gas pipeline shall be constructed. The gas pipeline can only be connected in the period from May to October.
The Hestad stream shall be re-established in a new stream culvert under Nordsjøvegen.
The project will be implemented model-based
The nature and extent of the work requires several traffic alterations, both on county road 510 and county road 374. Along county road 510 a temporary road has been engineered for Kleppvegen.
