As a part of efforts to secure work places in a flood situation and reduce the traffic load in down town Fåvang, a diversion road has been designed around down town Fåvang. This shall serve 2 main objectives, to get the heavy traffic out of down town and at the same time function as flood protection.The planned road is under 1 000 metres long and has varying height, but the top wall is always higher than a 200 year flood situation. The mass need is around 100 000 m3, of different fractions. At least one pump station will be established that shall have a capacity of around 2 100 litres per second.The assignment is planned for execution as a main contract in accordance with NS 8405, where the start up is planned early in 2017. Completion will be September 2018.The assignment will be published with a tender deadline for the middle of July 2016. This is on the basis that if the stated economic allocations are not adequate, it must be put forwards as a budget issue for 2017. The budget discussions for 2017 will take place in Autumn 2016.The progress plan in part 2 of the tender documentation names a deadline for cultivation. This is not in the description, but according to the plan should be included in revised edition of the description. This initiative concerns cultivation of forest areas that shall be replacement for some of the areas that the diversion road will occupy.
