The contract work consists of engineering and construction of the highway section E 18 Arendal — Tvedestrand.E18 Tvedestrand — Arendal runs from Rømyr in Tvedestrand to Harebakken in Arendal. The route is approximately 23 km, and will be a four-lane highway:— From Rømyr (the Føyheia tunnel) to the new crossing at Longum syd ( Longum south), ca. 17.5 km, the highway is being built with a 20 m width of the road, standard class H8.— From Longum syd to Harebakken (the Torsbuåsen tunnel), ca. 3.8 km, the highway is being built with 23 m road width, standard grade H9.— Harebakken approximately 200 m adaptation to the existing highway.Apart from the junction points at both ends, Rømyr — Fløyheia and Stølen — Harebakken, the road runs through rural terrain. The highway crosses several major rivers and smaller streams.The building of frontage roads will also be part of the assignment. New frontage roads to the two new junctions, and new highway from Stølen to Harebakken. The new frontage roads has a total length of ca 14 km. Pedestrian and cycle paths with sidewalk will also be built along most of the frontage roads. The solutions will vary, but in essence it will be cycle paths with side walk of 2,5 m + 1,5 m widths, and combined pedestrian and cycle path with a 3 m width.Connections to existing road will consist of temporary links at Rømyr and Harebakken. In both places, it is required that the road, if necessary, can continue as a new route outside the existing E18 highway.The project contains a lot of blasting and earthmoving, estimated to be approximately 7 000 000 m³ in total.The project has four tunnels, all built with T9,5 standard profile:— Fløyheia tunnel, southbound and northbound, T9 610 m length— Trælfjell tunnel southbound and northbound, T9 205 m length— Hesthag Mountain tunnel southbound and northbound, T9 684 m length— Torsbuåsen tunnel southbound and northbound, T9 785 m length.Fløyheia- and Træfjell have wider sight, which makes parts of the tunnels bigger.The distance contains a number of elements, including 13 bridges along E18, 3 bridges along the frontage roads, the distance also have abutments walls / wings included:— Vennevann bru (bridge), 51 m— Kloppemyr bru (bridge), 61 m— Bråten bru (bridge), 61 m— Kroktjenn bru (bridge), 51 m— Mørkoppdalen bru (bridge), 61 m— Årdalen bruer (bridge), 2x182 m— Sagene brue (bridge)r, 2x198 m— Bjørnsfjell GS-bru (bridge), 63 m— Grenstøl overgangsbru (bridge), 61 m— Storemyr Viltovergang, 60 m— Nygård lokalvegbru (bridge), 53 m— Røydalen bruer (bridge), 2x180 m— Piletjenn bruer (bridge), 2x170 m— Stølen bru (bridge), 55 m— Mørland overgangsbru (bridge), 67 m— Elgtråkka lokalvegbru (bridge), 67 m— Longum GS-bru (timber bridge), 43 m— Gamle Songevei GS-bru (timber bridge), 43 m— Longum overgangsbru (bridge), 63 m— Strutsedalen GS-bru (bridge), 6 3m— Råna lokalvegbru (bridge), ca. 80 m16 tunnel portals and several culverts for the crossing of E18 and the frontage roads are included.A total of 15 roundabouts will be designed and built on the frontage roads and at the intersections areas Grenstøl and Longum syd.The construction of new water and sewage for both Tvedestrand and Arendal municipalities is also included in the assignment.Furthermore, these elements are required to be designed and constructed:— Electrical / SRO— Establishment of new industrial areas— Public transport terminal with parking at Grenstøl— Parking facilities for public transportation/car pooling at Longum Syd.— Technical engineering for tunnels.
