Oslo University Hospital, Clinic for Laboratory Medicine, Department of Pathology, shall procure 3 rotary microtomes for sectioning of paraffin embedded materials in diagnostic histology laboratory with heavy load procedures and 1 freezing microtome for quick diagnostics of frozen tissue materials.
The department needs several types of microtomes for different uses. The requirement specification is divided into 3 types of rotatory microtomes, automatic microtome for users that struggle with load problems/damage, ‘all round’ microtome for large and small preparations and a serial section microtome. The type of microtome involved in call offs will be assessed in each case according to it's intended use. At the time of the announcement of the competition, it had not been determined what should be purchased. Financing for 3 microtomes has been undertaken, subject to final approval.
Oslo University Hospital wants an option on 10 microtomes in each category. In recent years approx. 15 microtomes have been purchased for Oslo University Hospital (including research). We anticipate that some of the microtomes will need to be replaced during the option period, subject to financing and need. The type of microtome involved in call offs will be assessed in each case according to it's intended use. At the time of the announcement of the competition it had not been determined what should be purchased, so the number can vary greatly between microtome types.
Oslo University Hospital wants an option on 4 freezing microtomes. 3 freezing microtomes have been purchased for Oslo University Hospital in recent years. We anticipate that some of the freezing microtomes will need to be replaced during the option period, subject to financing and need.
Which contract type shall be applicable:
1. Procurement without consumable materials.
The procurement will be conducted by Medisinsk teknologisk virksomhetsområde (MTV).
A contract will be signed with one or more tenderer(s).
It is possible to submit tender offers on part of the delivery, but only complete equipment configurations.
A contract shall be signed for the assignment, based on OUS'standard documents, see the attached Contract Document including annexes.
In addition the contracting authority would like option(s) for the following:
10 motorised rotary microtomes, automated.
10 motorised rotary microtomes all round.
10 motorised rotary microtomes, series section.
4 freezing microtomes.
Service contracts
Option period MTU: 4 years and
The contracting authority will have a unilateral right, but not a duty to take up the option.
