Aurskog-Høland municipality shall construct a new 1 to10 year school at Bjørkelangen with places for 660 pupils. The new school shall be constructed on the site where the current primary school and secondary school are located. The school shall, in addition, to the necessary rooms for 1 to 10 years include before-and-after-school care, an arts school and a multi-purpose hall.

Aurskog-Høland municipality shall construct a new 1st to 10th year school at Bjørkelangen with places for 660 pupils. The new school shall be constructed on the site where the current primary school and secondary school are located. The school shall, in addition, to the necessary rooms for 1st to 10th years include before-and-after-school care, an arts school and a multi-purpose hall.Bjørkelangen school shall be constructed with passive house energy requirements and the building shall be constructed with solid wood elements. Chippings shall be used in district heating for heating the building, which will be provided by an external supplier and solar panels shall be used. Parts I and II of an environmental plan have been prepared and the contractor is obliged to relate to this throughout the detailed engineering design services and execution phase.The primary school shall be demolished first in order to free up room for the new building. The demolition of the primary school is a separate contract and it is expected to be completed by mid January 2016. During the construction period pupils and teachers in the primary school and before-and-after-school care shall be in 3 pavilions, which will be temporarily placed by the secondary school. The secondary school and pavilions shall be demolished after the new school is in use.
