Varanger Kraftnett has been granted a licence for the construction and operation of the New Smelror transformer station. Ref. resolution: NVE 201305584-11
A building with a footprint of approx. 460 m² is planned to be constructed. The building has 1 floor, with sunken culverts for cables. Sloping roof construction with varying inside ceiling heights from 3.5 m to 6.9 m.
The roof is to have 2 levels, 1 over the side building and 1 over the transformer cells. Light roof elements are planned to be laid on top of concrete walls and steel constructions. The side building is to have outer walls of insulated stud-work on a concrete parapet. The internal transformer cells and fire dividing walls are to be constructed out of reinforced concrete.

Teknisk og faglig kapasitet:
The contractor shall have central certification for execution, or substantiate that local certification can be achieved in development class 2 in the following certification disciplines.
— Ground work and landscape design.
— Concrete constructions cast on site.
— Assembly of supporting metal or concrete constructions.
— Joinery work and assembly of wooden constructions.
Tenderers can use sub contractors to achieve certification within the disciplines the tenderer does not have itself.
— Tenderers shall have experience from relevant assignments.
— The tenderer shall have sufficient capacity and execution ability.

Kontraktutførelse
Innskudd og garantier som kreves:
The contractor shall provide security for his contractual obligations equivalent to 10 % of the contract sum. The security will be stepped down after the take over in accordance with NS 8405 point 9.2.
Security shall be furnished by a bank, insurance company or other financial institution approved by the builder.
Juridisk form som skal antas av gruppen av økonomiske operatører som kontrakten skal tildeles til: Any contractor group shall have joint and several liability.
