The work includes the construction of a new network arch bridge over Loftesnes Strait in Sogndal kommune. Length of the bridge is 194 m. Steel quantity approximately 1 250 t. 2 foundations in the sea with a total of 28 steel piles. Superstructure with concrete slab.In addition, the works also include the following:— Improvement of National Road 5 toward the centre of Sogndal, approximately 170 m,— New roundabout with special design due to challenging soil condition,— Filling and pitching in the sea at roundabout approximately 10 000 m3,— Improvement of National Road 55 from roundabout toward Luster, approximately 160 m,— Improvement of National Road 5 at Loftesnes toward Kaupanger, approximately 270 m,— New junction to Loftesnes and Barsnes and adjustments to local roads,— Completion and development of new land area at Loftesnes approximately 40 000 m2,— Adjustments and construction of new footpaths and side-walk,— Noise barriers on Loftesnes approximately 100 m,— Strengthening of existing bridge during the construction period,— Demolition of existing bridge after traffic is routed over the new bridge,— Removal of steel piles from trial piling.
