Between the Ringvassøya Island and the Reinøya Island in Karlsøy municipality a new submarine tunnel, profile T8.5 shall be constructed. The submarine tunnel shall be situated under Langsundet and the length is 2 740 m with accompanying portals, adjacent roads, a bridge and a culvert.

The construction of a 2 740 m long submarine tunnel, profile T8.5, under Langsundet, with accompanying portals 10 and 7 metres, adjacent roads with a length of approx. 9 km, a bridge with a length 42 metres and a culvert with a length of 5 metres. A roundabout at Lanes shall be constructed. The roundabout shall direct traffic into the tunnel or further towards Hansnes and the ordinary T-crossing at Rakkenes (Reinøy).At Rakkenes, a deposit area is designated in/near the sea, and it shall be arranged for partial transport of masses by barges. From Rakkenes to the Reinskardelv River the existing road with a length of approx. 3 200 metres shall be improved. From the Reinskardelv River to the Kvitbergan, a road with a length of approx. 5 000 metres shall be constructed. The road shall be situated above the built-up area.In connection with the construction of a pier in Sætervika, north of the Reinøy Island, barges shall transport 60 000 m3 tunnel masses from Rakkenes. The masses shall be used for the construction of a berm and fillings in the deepest sections of the pier.
