The reconstruction of Jahnebakken 5 — an engineering, procurement and construction contract
Jahnebakken 5 was built in 1951-1953.
Up until 2010 the building was used as office purposes and laboratory activities. The building has not been in use since 2010.
The building comprises 6 complete floors, with technical rooms and a culvert below sections of the basement. The outer walls comprise hollow walls made of bricks. The total gross area of the building is approx. 2 500 m². The building is of high architectural quality and appears as authentic.
The building was listed (protection classification 1) in 2014.
The project includes internal reconstructions of the entire building, as well as some adaptations of the exterior.

Reconstruction of the entire building.The contract mainly comprises the establishment of approx. 125 new office work stations in the building Moreover, (limited) laboratory activities with accompanying supporting functions, as well as education and representation rooms shall be arranged.Almost all inner walls shall be removed in most of the floors, which means that only loadbearing structures shall remain. All outer windows shall be replaced. The entire existing roof structure made of concrete shall be demolished. A new roof with steel as the loadbearing structure shall be built.The entire existing electrical installation system shall be totally removed and renewed. A new lift shall be established.Most of the HVAC installations shall be disassembled and replaced with new installations. The sanitary installations shall be totally replaced. A water-borne heating system with radiators shall be installed. A sprinkler system shall be installed.
