Romsdal sixth form college is currently divided between several locations. It is a vocational college, with a lot of old and run down buildings. Most of the activities and administration are in Langmyrvegen.The premises in Langmyrvegen shall be comprehensively renewed and expanded, a considerable part of the existing buildings shall be demolished and a new building shall be constructed that connects the existing buildings that are to be kept.When the project is completed, all the college's activities will be at Langmyra. The college will have a capacity of 950 pupils and 200 employees.The site and neighbouring buildings:The site is approx. 38.24 decares and it is situated between Solbakken and Langmyrvegen, north east of the centre of Molde.The site is surrrounded by housing on all sides, but towards the north west there is a food shop and towards the east there is a zone that is regulated for leisure purposes.Orientation, sun and wind:The site is on a slope from north west to south east. The south side of the buildings receive a lot of sun and have a fantastic view of the Romsdal alps. The predominant wind direction is north west, so the site's attractive outside areas are not particularly exposed to the wind.Topography and vegetation:The site has an internal height difference of approx. 20 m from the north western part to the south western part. There are some existing trees towards Langmyrvegen and Fuglset stream runs towards the leisure area in the east with deciduous trees and high vegetation.Main lines in the project:The college will be in full operation during the entire construction period. As parts of the college are to be demolished before the start of the construction work, replacement premises have been erected at both Langmyra and by one of the other premises.A new building shall be constructed with four storeys, approx. 12 300 m² gross. The new building will be connected to building K (2006), building G (1970, renovated 2010) and building E (1989) with internal connections. The connection to building E will be via a bridge. Various adaptions in buildings K, G and E are included.Building F (Fuglsethallen) belongs to Molde municipality.The project includes the development of all outside areas with a new bus stop solution, internal roads, workshop place with cold storage, car parks and outside leisure areas. The football pitch is the only part that the project will not touch.When the work on the new building starts, buildings C, D and H will have been demolished and various bits of infrastructure that came into conflict with the new building will have been altered.The demolition of buildings A and B and the development of the outside areas to the west and north of the new building will be carried out after the new building has been moved into.
