Primarily the works consists of improving the battlement and the roof. The works shall basically be carried out in two phases: In phase one, the battlement will be improved. This notification concerns phase one: A new waterproof layer shall be established in the battlement floor, which will be lower than the current level. The works include demolition of fixtures and existing structures with slats, slate slabs, membrane and integral cast down to the underlying natural stone structure. The battlement shall function for draining of water. Drain and downpipes through the outer wall shall be reconstructed. New copper fittings shall be mounted around the entire battlement.In phase two, after phase one has been carried out, the slate roof will be relayed with the re-use of slate. The chimney shall be packed with new fittings.The scaffolding works that support the restoration works shall likewise follow these two phases. Scaffolding for phase one involves the construction of a stairwell tower, freight elevator, loading tower and rubbish chute for supporting works on the battlement. In phase two, after the works on the battlement are carried out, lattice girders and platforms will be mounted on the roof for the roof works. The use of mobile cranes must be expected for the parts of the works where the freight elevator is considered inappropriate.
