Contract K208 Alabaster hall facade includes 3 060 m² double glass facades for the New National Museum project at the Vestbane site in Oslo.
The facade construction has a depth of 1.25 m and a height of 9.77 m. In the double facade there are 3 doors, 4 panorama windows, 24 fire section walls, LED light grid/screen, two layer roller blinds, pillars, walkways with rise, heating and ventilation.
Sections of the facade shall be built to a scale of 1:1 ('mock-ups') for testing. These shall be used for executing i.a. burglary testing, glass test (glass lamination test of durability with temperature changes, UV radiation and with high temperature stress), also G-value test of glass ceramics and of glass panes. Design tests shall also be carried out on: a: regarding transmission of light and accent light, as well as HVAC tests of i.a. heat gain from the double facade to the Alabaster hall itself. The tests shall be set up as early as possible and before mass production starts.
