The municipal buildings in Utmarkveien 2 currently consist of two blocks, one tower block of 10 storeys plus basement as well as a low rise block of 2 storeys plus basement. A lower middle building of one storey and a basement joins the blocks together.
The existing middle building and low rise block shall be demolished and a new middle building and low rise block shall be established with a passive house standard. The footprint of the new buildings more or less fits the existing buildings that are to be demolished, and it will include a total of 35 sheltered accommodation flats and communal areas. The tower block shall be upgraded to a modern standard and it shall, amongst other things, be insulated and get a new facade cover. 8 new flats shall be fitted out in the tower block - one on each storey from the 2nd to 9th floor. Two new communal rooms shall also be fitted out, one on the 4th and one on the 7th floor.
