The contract includes RFID equipment: scanning baseplates, self-service dispensers, alarm ports, cameras and RFID chips, as well as training, service and maintenance agreements.
The purpose of the contract is to obtain predictable agreements with suppliers that cover the demanded need and ensures delivery. The procurement may also result in the option agreements with suppliers of RFID chips with printing and barcodes as well as the future additional purchases of other RFID equipment.

The procurement includes the introduction of RFID at Ullandhaug, Archaelogical Museum, Bjergsted and for a future library branch at Stavanger University Hospital (SUS). In total, these have approximately 320 000 documents in the open collection, and a total loaning of approx. 55 000 a year (first-time loans, renewals not included).All library departments have a need for self-service. The contract therefore contains self-service machines having functions for lending and returning. The contract also includes alarm portals and associated software for all library exits. All libraries have tasks such as registration and preparation of books; therefore, there is a need for workstations with scanning baseplates and related software. The software must be able to communicate with the BIBSYS public library system and the new, upcoming Alma system.
