The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK), henceforth referred to as the Contracting Authority, invites to a restricted tender competition regarding delivery of Content Delivery Network (CDN) services.
By this competition the Contracting Authority wishes to offer the general public the possibilities to achieve higher quality of the Contracting Authority's multimedia contents delivered through the Internet. The service is henceforth referred to.as "CDN".
The Contracting Authority seeks CDN partners that can provide a distribution portfolio that can cover almost the entire requirement of the Contracting Authority for live and on-demand delivery of multimedia contents to the end users in Norway. The contracting Authority also requests a system for serving Norwegians living abroad with streaming when this is allowed. Multimedia will be distributed over the Internet's infrastructure to a multi-platform, but also to a certain degree mobile telephone services, games consoles and other network connected units.
