New organ in Geiranger Church

A new organ shall be built for Geiranger Church. The assignment includes engineering design, building, installation/adaptation, testing and tuning of the new organ. The project includes both solution and price implemented as an engineering, construction and procurement contract.
A complete new pipe organ shall be built, with a pipe organ house and front. The organ shall be placed at the gallery where the existing organ is located. The church building is an octagonal log church from 1842. The church was designed by architect Hans Klipe. The space conditions for an organ have clear limitations and the new organ is planned to contain up to 10 tunes. The organ shall have two manuals and pedals and it shall be built in accordance with classical and established craft principles with slider chests as well as mechanical trackers and stops. A wide key note foundation and a rich bass sound adapted the rooms acoustics are required. The organ's main task is first and foremost to accompany the parish song in connection with services and church activities, but also accompaniment of choir and soloists in connection with services and concerts. Due to a low number of voices, the instrument requires as many sound nuances as possible. The organ house shall be made of solid wood and a good architectural design adapted the church room is emphasised. High quality sound and craftsmanship are generally requested. This will be assessed based on technical descriptions and relevant reference instruments.
