Phase 1C
Sørlandet Hospital HF has prepared a tender basis for a general contract for the execution of construction works in connection with completion of a relatively small renovation of the northern part of the surgical department at Sørlandet Hospital HF in Kristiansand S. The surgery department is in full operation, and the area to be renovated will be sealed off. The conversion is approximately 220 m2 on the 2nd floor of the hospital, and shall include after completion of the renovation:
— Two wardrobes with associated shoe corridor,
— A waiting zone for inpatients (medical group 1 room)
— Anaesthesia treatment room, which also will be used for somewhat involved dental surgery under the direction of the Vest-Agder dental surgeon (medical group 2 room)
— A preparation room for patients pending surgery (medical group 2 medical room), and a storage area.
In other words, a small renovation, but the medical group 2 room turns out to be electrically complicated and this should not be under-appreciated.
To protect the Project Owner's interests in its contractual relationship with the general contractor, SSHF has a need for construction management. Furthermore, this procurement concerns construction management for Phase 1C, and the contract includes a SEH coordinator for the execution phase.
The assignment is primarily the execution of construction management in accordance with the full-service description for building projects, for Phase 1C, of the surgery-department project. Yet, simultaneously, a number of issues stemming from earlier completion of the project has resulted in a need for additional attention from a construction management perspective; accordingly there may also be a need for construction management assistance on related investment assignments in 2014, and therefore Sørlandet Hospital HF establishes a number of options in the tender that the hospital can use if needed. The options may take place in 2014 and the first half of 2015.
