Examples of assignments:— Geotechnics consulting in-house at Statsbygg.— Authoring text for the building programme discussing all types of earthworks.— Prepare or assist with cost calculations for earthworks. At Statsbygg, the concept of geotechnical engineering includes working with uncompacted materials such as excavating, blasting, shoring of excavation pits, foundations, soil filling/levelling, soil reinforcement, tunnelling and rock caverns, landslides.— Assess the need for site investigations, prepare tender documentation for site investigations, proposals and to write orders.— Monitor ongoing studies/contracts.— Review of geotechnical planning, and perform quality control of consultants and contractors for geotechnical projects that are in the design and construction phases. This may include checking calculations.— Professional geotechnical advice and assistance in relation to development/expansion projects.— Geotechnical assessment in disputes.— The services shall be performed in accordance with EN 1991-7 and other relevant guidelines.For geotechnical engineering including engineering geology, the annual need lies in the range 0.3 to 0.5 FTEs.Contaminated sites:— Authoring text for the building programme discussing all types of earthworks.— Prepare or assist with cost calculations for contaminated sites.— Assess the need for environmental assessments, preparing tender documentation for environmental assessments, proposals and writing orders.— Monitor ongoing studies/contracts.— Review of planning regarding contaminated sites, and perform quality control of consultants and contractors for geotechnical projects that are in the design and construction phases.— Professional advice and assistance in relation to development/expansion projects.— Perform assessments regarding legal disputes.For contaminated sites, the annual need lies in the range 0.2 to 0.3 FTEs.
