Parliamentary Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Contracting Authority) organises several annual meetings where there is a need for interpreting equipment for simultaneous translation. About half of the meetings take place in Parliament, while the other take place around Norway (including Svalbard). To conduct simultaneous translation, the Contracting Authority seeks to cover its needs for certain equipment by renting said equipment. The agreement will regulate the rental conditions for such equipment and installation, operation and dismantling related to each leasing occasion. Rental periods will generally be from one to four days. The scope of each rental will be from one interpretation booth up to 11 booths located in several rooms.
Examples of equipment to be hired:
— Interpreter's booths;
— Interpreter's set;
— Different transmitter and receiver equipment;
— Monitors;
— Headphones.
Examples of services to be included:
— Transport of equipment;
— Installation of equipment;
— Operation of the equipment during the meetings;
— Removal of equipment.
The supplier shall provide technical equipment and related services beyond the above where necessary to facilitate an effective interpreter service.

During the contract period, including any options, 10 to 12 meetings are anticipated where there will be a need for the equipment. Most meetings have a duration of one to two days and use 2 or 3 interpretation booths and have approx. 200 participants. A major event is scheduled in the Parliament in the autumn of 2014, requiring 6 interpretation booths and will have 350 attendees.2015 will see an event lasting five days, and require 6 interpretation booths for the 500 participants.The estimates above are not an expression of the actual purchasing obligation. The client is not limited to the estimated volume, if the needs during the period of the framework agreement change. The framework agreement will be limited by the technical limits, not the financial limits.
