The project consists of a new building for the Medicine and Health Sciences Department (MH2) for the University of Tromsø. The gross floor area is approx. 20,000 m2, constructed from level 5 to levels 11/12.The main entrance shall face north-west on level 8, and the building is to be built into the steep terrain, with a constructional tapering towards the economy courtyard on level 6 towards the south-east. The building is to be founded on rock. The geotechnical report is enclosed.Statsbygg will take care of the project management, the engineering design manager is in Tromsø and the engineering design group is in Oslo and Trondheim.Access to the construction site is challenging and extra safety measures must be implemented before a new access road is established. An area has been put aside for barracks, but there will not be space to park many private cars there.Statsbygg has engaged its own construction manager for project follow-up.The construction site is close to the existing building, which will be in full operation during the entire construction process. Routines for notifying blasting and noisy work must therefore be worked out. Both the university hospital and the university have some activities that cannot be carried out when blasting is being carried out, and notifying and planning this is therefore important and necessary.The contract roughly covers:1. Excavation, blasting, transporting away and securing the construction pit. The extent of the excavation and blasting work is approx.16 500 m³2. Diversion road, which after the construction period shall be altered to a permanent foot and cycle path. Matter from the construction pit shall be used as far as this is possible. Completion early May 2015.3. Expansion of the car park. Matter from the construction pit shall be used as far as this is possible. Completion early August 2015.4. Barracks for this ground contract, and preparation of barracks for the general contract.5. Culvert from the existing MH under the economy courtyard to MH2. Must be carried out from mid April with completion early August 2015.6. Demolition of the buildings (stores etc.) in the economy courtyard.7. Relaying water and sewage pipelines that cross the construction pit for MH2.8. Possible relaying of electricity and tele cables that conflict with the construction pit for MH2.9. Some concrete and pillar work on level 5 for axses 24-42.10. Commissioning the economy courtyard after the construction of the culvert and moving the nitrogen tank.
