Service Licence User Directed Personal Assistance (BPA) for users in Narvik municipality

Narvik municipality invites service providers to apply for an award of a service licence for the provision of assistance hours in the scheme User Directed Personal Assistane (BPA) for users in the municipality. BPA is pursuant to the Health and Welfare Service Act from 24.6.2011 and the corresponding rights in accordance with the Patient and User Rights Act dated 2.7.1999.
The licence award means that new contracts will be signed with service providers of BPA in Narvik municipality.
Per December 2012 approx. 20 000 annual hours of BPA are provided to approx. 20 users, under municpial management. The share of annual hours managed privately is currently 0 %.
Narvik town council has decided to carry out a review of free user choice. The final decision on the future scheme has not yet been made. The contract is subject therefore to how the future division between private and municipal managed services will develop.
