Møhlenpris school is designed by the town architect Kaspar Hassel and was constructed in 1911/12, the building is worthy of protection.
The main building was erected with three full storeys with two 2-storey wing buildings + a basement and loft. The school's area is approx. 4 600 m
The town council department for nurseries and schools (BBS) has in an order dated 24.2.2012 including a room programme and annexes accounted for what the council would like to be built, annex II.4.
Various professional reports have been worked out over several years in order to map what measures must be implemented to get the school certified for health care. A report is attached as information, annex II.6. This report was worked out at a time when the building was only wanted to house a school.

The Development Department has in 2011 worked out a feasibility study for a development centre where various alternative solutions for housing the various functions (school, nursery, foreign language speakers) were analysed. Alternative 2 points out the most interesting solution that will be worked on further, annex II.5. When the project "Møhlenspris development centre" starts up, the project shall be looked at again and an assessment shall be made of what condition reports or surveys are required in order to obtain a good enough basis for carrying out the engineering design services in a satisfactory way. The building shall be totally renovated up to the current requirements and standard in accordance with the current laws and regulations. As far as it is possible attempts shall be made to achieve low energy standard or better. Consideration shall be given to applying to ENOVA for support. The buidling is connected to district heating. The Cultural Heritage Management Office shall write and "antiquarian document" that will be an important work document for the engineering design group, the document will be available in September 2013. The Cultural Heritage Management Office and the antiquarian authorities will be important cooperation partners and considerable effort must be reckoned on here, especially from the architect, the reference project is Ny-Krohnborg school, which has recently been renovated.

Development plan work - for information:
The area is not regulated. Town development, the Department for Private Plans requires that a development plan must be worked out. The main reason is that the school shall be altered to a development centre. Considerations to loading/unloading when collecting and delivering children to the nursery, the traffic situation and a lack of satisfactory outside areas as regards m2 for all the groups on their own site are also reasons. The Development Department has engaged ABO Plan og Arkitektur AS to carry out the development work. The work has started, see annex II.3. The development plan work is expected to take approx. 1 1/2 years. Parallel processes are planned, i.e. the engineering design services will run simultaneously with the development work. In the development work possibilities will be looked at to co-use cadastral no. 164, title no. 344, annex II.11, the co-use will mainly be for outside areas and flexible use of them.

The engineering design group is to be priced in two phases. Phase 1 consists of a sketch project, preliminary engineering design services, working out the tender documents for a interaction contract, and contracting interaction contractors.
Phase 2 consists of detailed engineering design services/interaction phase, construction phase and guarantee period. An option price is to be given for phase 2.
