Lørenbanen - U2 - Substructure contract

The Lørenbanen project includes a 1.6 km long double track metro stretch of tunnel between Sinsen on Centrumsbanen (metro ring) and Økern on the Grorudbanen, with an underground station on Løren of which approximately 1,100 m rock tunnel and approximately 500 m outdoor rail track (including a concrete tunnel). In addition, there shall be established a new substructure and superstructure of approximately 500 m stretch on Grorudbanen between Hasle station and the culvert towards Økern. The scheduled completion of the project is during the course of 2016.
The implementation of the project provides the basis to take advantage of the metro system's total capacity better than today within three main areas:
1 Offload the shared stretch of Tøyen – Majorstuen through the city center with one train from the Grorudbanen, so that Østensjøbanen can achieve a higher frequency from one to two trains per fifteen minutes.
2 The establishment of a new track connection for a direct line between Grorudbanen and the metro ring towards the north.
3 The establishment of Løren station in the urban area on Løren and link the new residential areas to the metro.
The project shall be carried out in several contracts.
This procurement applies for the contract for "Lørenbanen - U2 - Substructure contract" which includes:
1 ) Tunnel works: The operation and securing of approx. 2 x 200 m of a single track tunnel including water and possible frost protection and the expansion of the existing tunnel for the junction tracks. The water and frost protection works shall in addition be carried out in a station hall including stairways and approx. 2 x 100 m single track tunnel which has had the blasting completed. The tunnel works makes up the bulk of the workload.
2 ) The emergency exit at Båhusveien: The extraction of mountain/rocks, the establishment of construction access for the tunnel works, and the upgrading of the rescue room and the creation of technical rooms.
3 ) Other substructure works, including conduits (for electrical, telecommunications and automation, operation power and signal & security ) for the U1 and U2 zones.
4 ) Temporary and permanent constructions
5 ) Temporary and permanent cable reorganization
6 ) Drainage and fire water in the tunnel
The estimated construction period for this contract is approx. 1.0 years. Parts of the works are to be carried out in a 9-month train stoppage period (23.6.2014 -24.3.2015).
