KomOpp - playback system and physical stations

Hardware, software and installation of a complete system for storage and playback of digital media productions (digital stories) on interactive distributed viewing surfaces (delivery and assembly of these is a part of the tender) in Frøya arts and competence centre.
Aim:
The main aim of the project KomOpp is to review an academic basis and deliver concrete, mulitmedia content to Frøya arts and competence centre with connections to Frøya arts centre and Frøya sixth form college. A central part of the this work has been to develop a nucleus of digital stories with solid academic foundations. Technical systems shall now be established and a joint, interactive technological platform with connections between the arts centre, colleges and competence milieu. Rooms have been put aside and technical systems have been sketched where the profile for KomOpp is exposed in an attractive way for visitors and pupils in the foyer.
The delivery shall include:
- Storage unit with the accompanying software with a simple user interface for handling media resources and metadata
- Integration with the content material produced by Frøya film & bilder ANS (media resources and metadata)
- Sketch plan for the total work that shall be carried out
- Design, production and delivery of three floor based viewing stations with viewing surfaces, built in accordacne with the universal design, in which:
o two are designed as compass installations that can be turned and where one gets up information on a touch screen on, for example, the theme lighthouses related to coordinates on the compass (see the attached brochure for a concept sketch). The touch screens shall be able to send secondary information to smart telephones, ipads and PCs.
o one oblong viewing staton with two touch screens, one quiz monitor and "blue cooker" with touch screen (see the attached brochure for a concept sketch). The touch screens shall be able to send secondary information to smart telephones, ipads and PCs.
- Delivery of ten viewing surfaces in various sizes placed on walls in the centre (see the attached brochure for a concept sketch).
- Playback machines for each of the viewing surfaces, including touch screens
- Sketch of signal transfer from server to playback machines
- Software for controlling each of the playback machines from the touch screens based on the available metadata and media resources (sound, pictures and video).
- Software for showing texts for the media resources
- Software for sending secondary information to smart telephones and tablets from the touch screens at the stations
- System that ensures English communication of Norwegian produced material at stations and on screens
- Assembly of three floor based viewing stations (see the concept sketch for their design and placement) with touch screens and assembly of ten viewing surfaces (see the concept sketch for their design and placement) in Frøya arts and competence centre in the period 1.5.2014-14.5.2014.
- Procurement, testing and placement of webcams in Halten in Froan and in the salmon pools at the fish farm location in Frøya for real time sending. Signals from the cameras shall be sent to the viewing surfaces in Frøya arts and competence centre.
- Training local personnel in the period 1.5.2014-14.5.2014 at the awarding authority's address
- Delivery of all equipment, ready assembled at the awarding authority's address in the period 1.5.2014-14.5.2014.
- Commissioning and operation of the technology platform in the period 1.5.2015-14.5.2014. Everything must have been tested by 14.5.2014 and ready for the opening of the centre 17.5.2014.
