Bidding for a geochronological laboratory for K/Ar dating of clay minerals

Geological Survey of Norway (NGU)

The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU) wants to purchase laboratory equipment and analytical instruments to establish a geochronologicallaboratory for K/Ar dating of clay minerals. Equipment/instruments described in this tender are to be used for separating, characterizing and dating the clay minerals.
NGU invites bids for the following instruments:
a. Refrigerated/heated circulating bath.
b. Centrifuges.
c. Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS).
d. Laser Particle-Size Analyzer (LPS).
e. X-ray diffractometer (XRD).
f. Noble Gas Mass Spectrometer.
g. Argon Extraction Furnace.
Bidders may choose to submit bids for only one or for several or for all of the items listed above. Bidders may propose various technical options and solutions.
A signed and dated bid is placed in a neutral, sealed envelope clearly labeled "Bid, Equipment for K/Ar Laboratory". A digital copy of the bid shall also be provided as pdf or Word format file saved on a memory stick sent together with the envelope.
All offers shall be submitted in one paper copy and delivered at the latest by 15:00 o'clock on 4.9.2013 to:

Bids can optionally be sent by post/parcel to: NGU, PO Box 6315 Sluppen, 7491 Trondheim. However, the bidder incurs then the risk that the bid does not reach NGU premises in Leiv Eirikssons vei 39, Lade, Trondheim within the deadline.
Late bids will be rejected.
Award criteria in the choice of equipment (not in order of priority):
(a) Functionality and technical solutions.
(b) Price.
(c) Operating and maintenance costs and warranty terms.
(d) Delivery date.
(e) Service and support.
(f) References.
NGU reserves the right to reject the entire , parts of the bid or to enter into negotiation with a selection of the most relevant suppliers. NGU reserve the right to go ahead with new price quotations depending on the size of received quotations, quantity and available budget.
Electronic Invoice:
NGU requires that the suppliers of goods and services have the capacity to send their invoices and credit notes electronically in accordance with the standard "Electronic Trade Format" (Elektronisk handelsformat-EHF).
NGU uses the regulation 'General purchasing terms for government purchases of merchandise (AIS 89).

Bidding documents are in English and Norwegian languages. Interested parties are expected to be able to read instruction and specifications. Insufficient or erroneous bid is the bidder's own responsibility and it will be rejected.
