The existing buildings are listed into three construction phases: Phase 1 occurred in 1967, Phase 2 in 1976 and Phase 3 in 1984. The architect was Erik Fastvold.
There shall be established a three-story addition to the office section of the building. The canteen on the 1st floor will be expanded onto an atrium / courtyard and there shall be established a connection between the two ends of this floor. The entrance on the 3rd floor of the building's north facing side shall be opened up and made more audience-friendly, and accessible on the 5th floor in Phase 3 shall be changed. Among other things the building shall take further fire safety measures for example the continuation of stairs to the escape routes, and new lifts shall be installed which meet the requirements for UU. The office workplaces in the existing buildings shall be adapted for different future work forms and walking areas shall be opened. It is requested to maintain the architectural appearance of the buildings.
The facilities shall be fully operational during the construction phase and progress shall be planned in consultation with the user and adapt for their operations.
The goal of the project's and the challenges to facilitate the solutions and implementation plans are developed and implemented interacted. Statsbygg shall therefor enter into a contract with one interaction partner to implement the project. The relevant interaction partner shall define their own team, and this team shall cover all of the relevant subjects for the design and execution. The contractor with consultants and subcontractors shall in cooperation with the builder and users, prepare feasibility studies and an implementation plan, within the current budget.
The works will be carried out in two main phases. Pre-project which shall be in the period from October 2013 to January 2014. The final decision on including implementation, project scope, schedule and target total will be made in the winter / spring of 2014 after being drafted a decision documentation the pre-project in collaboration. Thereafter detailing and construction.
