Transport of pellet and management of storage

Hafslund Varme AS

Estimated annual requirements for pellets heating central Haraldrud (Alnabru), Oslo is approx. 40 000 tonnes of pellets. The pellets will mainly arrive by ship. The pellets will be loaded from the ship by a crane in a hopper (to be handling by the port authorities).
Transporter assignment: pellets must then be transported/removed from wharfside/hopper to storage. Pellets will then be emptied in bins in storage and a wheeled loader must then stow the pellets optimally. The transporter must operate the storage which mainly comprises of monitoring of load in storage, particularly in connection with heat generation. The pellets shall be transported further to Haraldrud and the main season is from October to May, dependent on the weather. The pellets shall be loaded from the storage on to a vehicle by using wheeled loader and be transported by vehicle to Haraldrud where the pellets are emptied into a bin. The pellets shall be emptied sideways and backwards.
The Awarding Authority requests tenders for the entire operation, but it will be split in 3 main components:
— Transport from wharfside/hopper to storage and stowing at storage,
— Management of storage,
— Transport from storage to Haraldrud.
The first season November 2012 until April 2013 may be subject to considerable variations as the heating central shall be constructed, completed and tested in this period. Errors/defects which result in delay of production and with that reduced requirement for pellets may occur. Normal operation should be from autumn 2013.
