Services for the development of Norwegian NCP NCP in epSOS (e-prescription)

The epSOS project (see wwww.epsos.eu) is working to establish a large scale pilot in order to develop and evaluate a joint infrastructure to exchange electronic health information across the national borders in Europe. The project is financed by the EU and the participating countries. One of the services that is focussed on in the pilot is access to electronic prescriptions.
From 1.1.2011 Norway has participated in the epSOS group, together with 22 other countries in Europe. The first pilots became operative in the first half of 2012 and the epSOS project will run until the end of 2013. Norway would like to participate with an operative pilot in the second half of 2013, with Norwegian prescriptions being available abroad and foreign prescriptions being available in Norway. The development work shall start in January 2013 and the procurement is dependent on the Health Directorate being awarded the necessary financing in their budgets.
